Gr 9 Up-This collection of biographical vignettes focuses on the lives of forgotten or largely unknown women of historical significance. Begun by author Lee as a series of tweets, these minibiographies are delivered in a fun, casual style infused with modern pop culture references, slang, and acronyms. The women featured represent an impressive range of historical periods and cultures, and there is also an emphasis on highlighting the contributions of LGBTQ communities. Lee admirably fulfills her stated goal of promoting lesser-known subjects who are awesome, accompanied by brightly colored, full-page artwork. VERDICT This history, featuring chatty discussions of the awesome qualities of unsung women, would be an appropriate supplemental purchase for high school collections.-Kelly Kingrey-Edwards, Blinn Junior College, Brenham, TX
