GUINEA BISSAU • Over the years we’ve tried to bring a wide variety of international angling adventures – the seas around the world are full of some incredible fish, many of them hard fighting and difficult to catch. We know plenty of anglers who spend most of their time seeking out exotic fishing adventures in different parts of the world, from Arctic cod and halibut to equatorial exotica and beyond. As we, hopefully, leave covid behind and we all get the travel itch we thought it would we could summarise some of the previous adventures our writers have been on and remind ourselves what they were catching. First up it’s a trip to Guinea Bissau made by James Wriggleworth and published in our very first issue in June 2016…..

ASCENSION ISLAND • In the second re-cap of past adventures in this issue we revisit day one of Sam Wadman’s trip to Ascension Island in 2016.

CHARTER BOAT REPORTS

Back to Brighton • John Sherlock goes for pollack on Brighton based boat Yellowfin Charters

INSHORE FISHERIES AND CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES • What are they for what do they do? We thought it would be a god idea to provide a concise guide for anglers and how they can interact.

SEA ANGLING PORTS IN WALES • We give a run down of all the excellent ports and fishing opportunities available in Wales

IN SEARCH OF TOPE • Tope are a true shark species and provide the private boat angler with a rare opportunity to tangle with a genuinely sporting quarry.

Changes of Approach • Des Westmore analyses the way angling tackle has developed in the last twenty years

THE SILVER SURFERS Go Fishing • Reader Andi Roche recently got in touch to tell the Editor about a new angling club operating out of Poole

JEWELS IN THE BLUE WATER CROWN . • Florida’s Boca Grande Pass the Florida Keys, wartime wrecks off Miami Beach, the sea mounts of the Cayman Islands, Bahamas Bimini the Mexican Caribbean and closer to home the Strait of Gibraltar. MIKE MILLMAN has visited and fished all of these and now he recalls adventures with the exotic species they offer.

MANX ANGLING • Jamie Hinchliffe, Manx based charter boat skipper, competition organiser and one of our irregular contributors, sent us the details of a book he’s written about sea angling around the Isle of Man. Manx has some amazing fishing so we thought it would be a good idea to bring his book to the wider boat angling world.
