Storms: Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Blizzards & Drought

Why are students so fascinated with all sorts of natural weather phenomena? Hurricanes, Typhoons, Cyclones, Tornadoes, Water Spouts, Droughts, Dust-storms and Sandstorms provide the basis for one interesting mix of science and language arts. Instructions for the teacher are given for each day, as well as lessons outlining possible strategies for teaching each activity in the unit. A host of activities are included, such as spelling lists (that match their spelling ability), word reinforcement puzzles, concentration game, crosswords, word searches and even a short test on the unit.
