Apple’s Next Operating Systems • Apple has lifted the lid on its next generation of operating systems. Due this Autumn, macOS: Ventura, iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and watchOS 9 were announced at the Worldwide Developer’s Conference in June. We’re also getting some new Mac hardware; the Apple Silicon M2 processor powers brand new models of the MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro. But what does the new operating systems and Mac gear have in store for us?

For the Mac – macOS Ventura • The next operating system for desktop and notebook Macs is called macOS Ventura. For this release, Apple focussed on making the core things you do with macOS even better, including some great new continuity features.

The M2 Processor and New MacBook Airs • There’s a new Apple Silicon system-on-a-chip processor in town, and it powers some great new MacBook Air models. But what’s so special about the Apple M2 CPU, and what can it do for the newly refreshed MacBook Air?

For the iPhone – iOS 16 • The iPhone is about to get an overhaul, and it won’t cost you a penny to upgrade. iOS 16, due for release this autumn, is a free upgrade and it’s packed with exciting new features that get the most from your Apple smartphone.

For the Car – CarPlay with iOS 16 • The next generation of CarPlay is on its way, and it integrates even deeper with your car than before. So what does Apple’s safe and hands-free way of using your iPhone with your road vehicle have in store for us?

For the Home – Home App • The Home app is being redesigned with iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura, and we’ve lots of new features on the way too. Best of all, there’s a new standard for the smart home. Let’s take a look at it all.
