After seeing a light in the Washington Monument in the middle of the night, KC, stepdaughter of the president of the United States, and her friend investigate. They find a broken state memorial stone and a monkey. Eventually they solve an almost one-hundred-year-old mystery involving stolen diamonds. The story is too far-fetched to sustain interest. Washington Monument facts are appended.
