For Dash and Lily, it's beginning to look a lot like...distance! Just in time for the series release of Dash & Lily on Netflix comes a new helping of love—this time across the pond as best-selling authors Rachel Cohn and David Levithan send Dash and Lily to England.
Dash and Lily were feeling closer than ever...it's just too bad they're now an ocean apart. After Dash gets accepted to Oxford University and Lily stays in New York to take care of her dogwalking business, the devoted couple are struggling to make a long distance relationship work. And when Dash breaks the news that he won't be coming home for Christmas, Lily makes a decision: if Dash can't come to her, she'll join him in London. It's a perfect romantic gesture...that spins out of Lily's control. Soon Dash and Lily are feeling more of a gap between them, even though they're in the same city. Will London bring them together again—or will it be their undoing?

Gr 8 Up-Dash and Lily, now two years into their relationship, are currently separated by the Atlantic Ocean. Dash is attending his dream school of Oxford University, and Lily stayed behind in New York City to take a gap year and grow her dog walking and dog crafts brand. It's now Christmas, Lily's favorite time of year, and she flies to London with the intention of surprising Dash. After arriving, things do not go as she had anticipated. Dash doesn't appear to be excited that she's there and is struggling at Oxford; reality isn't matching the expectations he built up over the years. Lily is debating whether she should turn down Barnard College and accept an invitation to attend the Pembroke Canine Facilitator Institute in the UK so the two can be closer. Cohn and Levithan have teamed up again to take readers on another adventure with their favorite couple. This light and warm collaboration touches on postsecondary insecurities many teens may have. While the story takes place only over a couple of days, it feels as though the couple are unrealistically able to form long-term solutions for their current situations. VERDICT Purchase where the two previous titles are still part of the collection and have circulated well.-Alicia Kalan, The Northwest Sch., Seattle
